The
Olympic Games are now only a few
months away and things are starting
to heat up at The Caspersen Olympic
Training Site. MJRC would like to
thank and wish good luck to all of
our past and present coaches who are
Olympic Hopefuls: Ned DelGuercio,
Portia Magee, Tom Paradiso, Simon
Carcagno, Troy Kepper, Colin
Farrell, Marcus McElhenny, Chris
Callaghan, & Shane Madden!
Hopefully, we will be seeing all of
you on NBC from China!
The
Mercer Juniors will try to learn
from these role models as we start
another spring season! Once again
MJRC will spend the spring months
preparing for the
Northeast/Mid-Atlantic District
Championship & the US Rowing Youth
National Championship.
The
Juniors have a very rigorous
schedule ahead of them this spring.
However, with the dedication of hard
working athletes, supportive
parents, generous alums, and
knowledgeable coaches we are
anxiously looking forward to a
successful spring season.
MJRC is also looking for beginner
rowers. If you are a dedicated
athlete who is seeking a new
challenge and are interested in
working with US National Team
athletes as coaches then come down
to the boathouse or contact

Welcome to the Mercer Junior Rowing
Club
|
|

In the winter of 2001, The Princeton
National Rowing Association,
formerly The Princeton International
Regatta Association, created the
Mercer Junior Rowing Club (MJRC) to
increase the accessibility of rowing
for high school students in the
Mercer County area. The MJRC team is
housed on Mercer Lake and is open to
all high school students in the
Mercer County area whose schools do
not have their own rowing teams. To
date MJRC services 15 different high
schools. The team is comprised of
varsity and beginner athletes, known
as novices. Since its inception,
MJRC has benefited from the
enthusiasm and contribution of
students, parents, and local rowing
enthusiasts. |

About the Princeton National
Rowing Association |
|
The
Princeton National Rowing
Association, a 501(c)(3)
non-profit organization, serves
as a community resource for the
support and advancement of the
sport of rowing. Its goal is to
increase the visibility of
rowing, promote international
and national competition, and
support superior competitive
rowing from the United States.
The organization, originally
founded as the Princeton
International Regatta
Association, was established in
2000 as the local organizing
committee for the first FISA
World Cup held outside of
Europe. It has since grown into
an umbrella organization which
is responsible for: The Mercer
Junior Rowing Club, The Mercer
Masters Rowing Club, The
PIRA-Resolute Racing Camps,
running the Finn M.W.Caspersen
Olympic Rowing Training Site,
and hosting national and
international regattas. Its
facility, the Finn M.W.Caspersen
Olympic Rowing Training Site on
Mercer Lake in West Windsor, is
home to over 500 rowers ranging
from high school aged to
Olympians, six rowing teams, the
United States National Team, and
